Message from the Latin Cup secretary:

Dear O Friends
In the name of the Belgian federation, I have the great pleasure to thank Portugal for the very nice stay that we made in Vila Real. The organisation was really what everybody was expecting in this kind of competition: very professional, very friendly.
All the runners and team leaders enjoyed the maps as well as the courses planned during these 3 events. We also thank you for the afternoon on the Douro. It was a good opportunity to be all together in a superb environment. We will not forget the perfect accommodation and meals.
In my name, as secretary of the "Coupe des Pays Latins", I'm specially happy to congratulate the local orienteers and the Portuguese federation for all what you did during - and before - this event.

• The special boat cruise in river Douro is canceled due to insufficient participants enrolled in the trip till now.
• Francesco Isella will be the speaker of the event. The italian was recently the speaker of Eureggio 2004 and the World Masters Orienteering Championship (WMOC) in Asiago.
• Baby-sitting service is assured in the competitions locations.

Event Centre  is located in the City Council in the centre of Vila Real.

Event presentation press conference will occur in September 24 at 11h00 onboard a boat of the DouroAcima that will travel the River Douro's bridges cruise in the City of Porto.

August 22 the IOF and FPO advisor visited for the 2nd time the competition place.

DouroAcima is a company of transport, tourism and restoration which spnsors, in part, the Latinum Certamen (it offers a cruise on Douro to the delegations which take part in the Latinum Certamen).
At the same time DouroAcima will organize a special cruise for the participants in the Vila Real 'O' Meeting.

Course - Régua - Pinhão - Régua
Lunch on board (Oporto aperitif, entries, “caldeirada” of cod, dessert)
Departure - 03-Oct-04 13h00 (1:00 p.m.)

The first registrations arrived! They came from Switzerland, 3 athletes of the club Care-Vevey Orientation. One of the athletes is Francine Repond, second classified in D40 in the Portugal ‘O’ Meeting 2004 and 30th in the WMOC 2004
