We went to meet the prestigious brand Artestanho, guest of honor of the III Medieval Fair
of Leça do Balio, which took place in the district of Matosinhos from 10th to 13th of September.
Artestanho keeps the tradition of the famous NAOM branded medallions.
For the fourth consecutive year, Artestanho creates the high quality handmade tin art pieces.
The company from Maia has won several awards in Portugal and abroad, for the quality of their work and permanent historical research, that his responsibles do for each piece they create.

The mayor of Crato, the President of Alentejo's Tourism
region and the President of the municipal parliament of Crato,
visited NAOM's stand on the opening of the XXVth Crato's Festival.

Between August 25th and 27th, the organization coordinated the execution
of the event with the owners of the terrains.
Family Barriguinha is the example of how the owners are colaborating in NAOM's organization.
Contacts were established so that everybody is synchronized in relation to the two rural maps.
Besides family Barriguinha, several others got to know more and made contact with the cartography done: Francisco Amieiro, Mr. Fadista, Mr. Gouveia and António Lopes

From July 17th to July 24th, Fernando Costa and Margarida Rocha promoted the NAOM in
the biggest orienteering event of the World (O'ringen - Sweden).
The two elements of the organization exhibited the event's outdoor (in the background) in competition arenas and distributed pamphlets in English.
Several people visited our "stand", from the organization to the winner of last edition in Alter do Chão (Eva Jurenikova) and participants who never miss a Carnival presence in Portugal.

Monastery of Flor da Rosa reopens to the public.

With the presence of the Minister of Culture José
António Pinto Ribeiro and the President of the Municipality of
Crato, took place on the 3rd July the reopening to the public of
spaces reclassified the Monastery of Santa Maria de Flor da Rosa.
The ceremony consisted of an Official Opening Session and the Cooperation Protocol signature between the Regional Directorate of Alentejo and Municipality of Crato, inauguration of the sculptural medieval core of the National Museum of Ancient Art as well as an exhibition of João Cutileiro in the Church's main hall.
Closing up a broad range of research actions, rehabilitation and recovery made in this monastery of Santa Maria de Flor da Rosa, the monument is now open to the visiting public with an area of reception and interpretation where various support services are provided that will allow both a better understanding of the whole history of this site, and the appropriate receptions conditions.

Anta do Tapadão is a megalithic monument with more that
five thousand years and classified by the IPPAR
(Portuguese Institute of Architectural Heritage)
as national monument since 1910, is located two
kilometers far from Aldeia da Mata, in Crato's municipality.
Characterized by its large size, is considered the 2nd largest dolmen in Portugal and one of the biggest in the Iberian Peninsula and is in very good state of preservation.
Consists of seven large-scale granite mainstays, averaging over six meters long (one is bronken halfway), which are topped by a huge stone serving as a table or hat. With the entry facing correctly to the east, is complemented by a corridor of ten meters in length, sided by block also of granite. At its excavation, a rich artifact collection was found, consisting of ceramic pots, arrows, knives, axes, feminine embroidery, human and animal bones, a staff and idol-plates (one that is unique on the peninsula), in memory to the earth mother.
